All rappers have to grow up sometime yes? Well pioneering MC Queen Latifah shows a newfound level of maturity on The Dana Owens Album. This timeless masterpiece showcases her vocal stylistic range that includes soul, blues and pop songs from every decade between the 1920s and 1970s.

The album features a cast of all-star support that includes Arif and Joe Mardin, Herbie Hancock, Jerry Hey, Joe Porcaro, Vinnie Colaiuta and John Patitucci to name a few. And then there's Al Green, who steps in to duet on "Simply Beautiful" where Latifah is at her seductive best.
