YOLANDA JOHNSON
Yolanda Johnson comes from a family of singers and  musicians. Most notable The Gap Band. Both of her parents are gifted in the art form of music. Yolanda says "Man all I remember as a child growing up was going to bed listening to my fathers’ band and waking up hearing my father's band. I LOVED it! Music runs through my veins."
Yolanda has taken that love of real music and spread it all over Southern California with her live performances. She’s made quite a name for herself packing out live music venues with her electrifying stage presence, her hypnotic vocals, and her energetic band blending sounds of soul, funk, hip hop and R&B. Often leaving audiences spellbound and spreading the gospel of this violet flower’s good news.
Her much anticipated self-entitled musical offering “Violet Flower” is slated for a March 2006 release. Self-titled you say? Well it so turns out that Yolanda means Violet Flower. Her first single “Individual” is a feel good female anthem that is sure to get both men and women to bob their head in agreement to the message this Violet Flower is spreading.
From an early age Yolanda set off to heal the world. Her mother recalls many times Yolanda gravitated towards a hurting soul whether she knew them or not. She just wanted to make it better. She took notice of how music affects people’s lives. It makes them reminisce. It takes away pain, it uplifts, it's calming, and it heals.
