OPRAH GIVES AUDIENCE $4.5 MILLION WORTH OF GIFTS

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey was in a charitable mood on the November 22nd show, as she gave 300 teachers in her studio audience $4.5 million in gifts, the New York Post reports. Some of the items given to the stunned audience members included a washer/dryer, Sony laptop computer, car navigation system and 30-inch LCD TV.

The stunt was all part of the annual "Oprah's Favorite Things" show, where each holiday season she furnishes the studio audience with extravagant gifts. This year's "Favorite Things" list cost about $15,000 per person, 3 times more that last year's items worth $4,800 per person.
