TIJANI KING

Emerging from London, United Kingdom, Tijani King is the latest RnB sensation that has cultivated his own individualism with his earnest songwriting and full-bodied vocals steeped in soul. You don’t listen to TK’s music; you experience it.

Having received a blessing from legendary artist Stevie Wonder, TK aspires to bring that ‘realness’ back to the RnB movement. His distinctive vocal style oozes sex appeal; f lashback to the days of Donnie Hathaway, Johnny Gill and Jodeci. The kind of music you played to get you in the mood, the ballads that gave you goose bumps, the tracks that seemed to mirror your own emotional journey. The comparison is uncanny.

Music had always played an immense part in TK’s life, he attributes inspiration from artists like Stevie Wonder, Jodeci, R-Kelly, Kim Burrell, Boys II Men and his very own sister – Thoria King. Having made a name for himself in the UK by being vocal coach to top British artists including Liberty X, Girls Aloud, Misteeq and Westlife to name a few, this became the turning point and the beginning for his career as an artist.

He procured a pivotal feature on a project with the gospel group – Se7en, featuring on their debut single “There It Is” and was selected for inclusion in the major Sony motion picture “One Love” – based on the life of Bob Marley. It received major airplay on national music stations in the UK and Europe as well as continuous video play on MTV and other music channels. The album features Grammy nominated artist Kim Burrell, Fred Hammond and Sisqo. This itself was a major achievement for TK, to be working with one of his major inspirations, Kim Burrell.

In a nutshell, this dynamic performer is definitely one to watch out for. Prepare yourself for the most talented new artist to emerge on the music scene, entwining his refreshing style to the RnB that we know of today. The new era is here.
