Ozzy Osbourne is offering fans the chance to meet him, for $1,000. Ten fans are being offered the opportunity to purchase a package, which includes a meeting with Osbourne, a special Ozzfest crew member T-shirt signed by the star, VIP seats next to the main stage, and the chance to dine with Ozzfest emcee Big Dave at a special crew dinner. The $1,000 fee will be donated to the Sharon Osbourne’s Colon Cancer Program, reports MTV News.

Brooklyn, New York-based rap group M.O.P. is prominently featured in 50 Cent's new video, "Outta Control (Remix)," and now group member Billy Danze has confirmed that all of the paperwork is done and M.O.P. is now officially signed to G-Unit Records.
Jessica Simpson and husband Nick are set to have a new neighbor, hip-hop superstar Eminem. He has apparently spent over $1.5 million on a luxury condominium at Las Vegas' plush Palms Place, a high-rise residential complex expected to begin construction next year. Former wrestling champ Hulk Hogan will also own a residence in the building.
Rapper and producer Warren G has been honored by his hometown of Long Beach, he’s received a week named in his honor. In the past, Warren has raised cash to purchase reading glasses for children, donated toys to youngsters through his annual G Christmas scheme, started a basketball league to keep youths out of trouble, and aided in his neighborhood’s development and expansion. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has re-teamed with his Twins co-star Danny DeVito to promote the 2005 California State Fair. In a TV commercial, which started airing in Northern California on the 28 th of July, the pair, who scored a massive hit with their 1988 comedy, are reprising their roles as unlikely siblings to promote the event. The fair, kicks off in Sacramento at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds on 12 August and runs until 5 September.
Missy Elliot is following in the footsteps of Celine Dion, by signing up to promote car manufacturing giant Chrysler. Missy is composing original music for the first commercial, which will advertise the new Jeep Commander, and she's reportedly in talks to make an appearance in the ad.
Singer and songwriter John Legend says that his next single from the album Get Lifted is already being used as a wedding anthem, and it hasn't been released yet. "A lot of people are using it for their weddings," Legend told MTV.com about his new track, "So High," adding that it addresses "love supreme. Love on the spiritual level, love that is beautiful, love I'm aspiring to."
Celine Dion, Duran Duran and Earth, Wind & Fire are among the artists set to play the Tenth Anniversary Grand Slam For Children on October 1st at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. It's sponsored by the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, which brings together an all-star lineup each year to help raise money for at-risk youth in Las Vegas, the city where tennis star Andre Agassi was raised. Also taking part in the event are Mary J. Blige, George Lopez and Grammy Award-winning producer, arranger and composer David Foster.
Rock legend Jimi Hendrix pretended to be a homosexual to avoid being called up to fight in the Vietnam war, according to a shocking new biography. The star had been recruited into the 101st Airborne regiment in 1962 but led army chiefs to believe he was gay, because he knew the US military would not approve. Hendrix, who died in 1970, always maintained he was dismissed because he broke his ankle on a parachute jump.
Sir Sean Connery is so sick of the "idiots" running Hollywood, he'll only return to acting if the studios make him an offer he can't refuse. The 74-year-old James Bond veteran has finally admitted he will never act on film again after keeping a low profile over recent years, and it's the studio moguls who have driven him away. He says, "I'm fed up with the idiots, the ever-widening gap between people who know how to make movies and those who green light them. "I don't say they're all idiots - I'm just saying there's a lot of them”. "It would almost need a Mafia-like offer I couldn't refuse to do another movie."
Props from the original Star Wars movies fetched high prices at an auction on July 29 th, 05 in Beverly Hills. Gary Kurtz, who produced the first two Star Wars movies, put up 75 pieces from his private collection to raise money to open a public film archive. Kurtz's collection of various props from those films became the center of the auction, which offered more than 400 pieces of Hollywood memorabilia and ultimately raked in $2 million.
Legendary comedian Richard Pryor has filed suit against Wayne's World director Penelope Spheeris to regain possession of his unreleased first film. Pryor thought the film was lost until scenes from it were shown two months ago when he was honored by the Directors Guild Of America. The comedian's performing daughter, Rain Pryor, is also named in the suit. The film in question is a 1968 comedy about a white man who goes on trial for having raped a black woman. The project is best known as Uncle Tom's Fairy Tales, but is variously titled Uncle Tom's Tales and Bon Appetit, according to AP.
The hosts of BET's popular video countdown show 106 & Park, Free and AJ Calloway, announced during the Thursday's July 28th live broadcast of the show that they were quitting. Allhiphop.com reports that details on why the duo opted to leave the show are sketchy, but there may have been some tension with BET's upper management. AJ shared that he's working on a pilot for television, a sports management company, and launching a restaurant in Brooklyn, while Free is set to pursue her career as a rapper full-time. |
